Questions
Many questions that Americans would consider very intrusive are really not that inappropriate in Georgia. My favorites and some of the most commonly asked include (many times when you are first introduced to someone):
"Amy, what is your salary??"
"Are you married?? No? Why not??"
"Aren't you a little old not to be married?"
"Are you a Christian?"
"Do you want to marry a Georgian? I have this nice son..."
"Which country is better, Georgia or America?" Both. "Now come on, Georgians are friendlier than Americans right??"
And the question of the year:
"Amy, are bearded women allowed to get married in Georgia??" -my neighbor
Or just comments in general:
"Amy, you gained weight in America!!"
